Joel Miro arrived ...
Not positionned for several days, Joel Miro (Gaes 677) arrived in Salvador de Bahia in the sunrise at around 4:30 am... The light was rising on Salvador and Joel arrived aboard his Zero (Plan Lombard.) Joel is the last Spanish to finish The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50.

Ricardo Apolloni arrived in Bahia
Ricardo Apolloni managed to rally Salvador in the night. He arrived in Bahia at 6:45 am (French time) with a single rudder. In compliance with the permitted 72 hours of technical stopover, Ricardo is reinstated in the ranking and is 31st of the leg2 (22d15h 43m at 5.75 knots average) and finished 21st in the general before jury with 29d 16h 49m at an average speed of 5.99 knots. His best performance was 228.17 miles in 24 hours.

Emmanuel show us, show us...
Emmanuel Renaud arrived at 5 am in France, 1 am in Salvador and now Koati moors in the Terminal Nautico's marina. Emmanuel jumps out, grabs the caipirinha, fresh fruit and tells... "It started well... Two days after the start, that's my jib torned in two... I repaired everything." Yes, I heard you talking to the VHF. You have sewn up everything?" asks another mini sailor that came to welcome him..." But Emmanuel show us, show us..." asks another. Emmanuel goes, and attempts to unravel the sail..." We see better on the front" said another. Emmanuel goes. Too late... His feet take off then land into the liquid element. And yes, this is the tradition, 24/24!

Conrad Colman, alone...
Conrad Colman (Hottyper.com) has completed his transatlantic... He rallied Salvador de Bahia and thinks taht he has donne the loneliest Transat possible: "I have spoken to 3 or 4 and sailors from the Canary Islands, I did not get the BLU well... I think that I was the most lonely in the whole fleet!". That did not stop him from having a huge smile, chew the fresh fruits, whistle and tdrink he caipirinha... And jump overboard!

Fabien Meyer, a pleasant shock
He was the last qualified for The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50. Six days before the start he has was informed that he could participate. Yesterday, Fabien Meyer (Roxane) crossed the finish line at 22h 10' 12'' (French time) the 25.10.2009 in 26th position of the second leg.

Bertrand arrived!
They were many to wait on the dock... But Bertrand Castelnérac (Bcombio.com) did not wait to be thrown overboard, he jumped even before the boat moored... Right after that, Bertrand jumped on the fruits offered by the Bahian which frightened by loons has reversed the traditional caipirinha in her tray.But no problem, Bertrand drank in the tray! Bertrand race's time is 22d 5h 45m at a speed of 5.85 knots. He finished 27th in the second leg. At the overall, he is 19th in series 29d 15h 37m at an average speed of 6 knots.

Marine, Craig, Marc and others...
"I was in the lead. I was a guide. When I was taped, others pass me. I saw four of them passing me." Marc Vertes (Sebang) is joking about his (small) misfortune in Bahia Bay when he saw, François Champion (Pogoman), Craig Horsfield (Skyweb Express) and Marine Feuerstein (Un Océan de Coleurs) overpassing him.

Francis Champion, a final as a regatta!
"Regatta at 4 in the Bay of Salvador, what up!" Francois Champion could not dream a more exciting end than this match race with four boats throughout the day in an unstable wind . A competition in the competition with the South African Craig Horsfield and his Series "Skyweb Express", the French Marc Vertès on his Pogo 2 and Marine Feuerstein, on a prototype. "I wanted to do a clean race. I learned a lot about myself. Above all, I flirted with my physical limitations and I know now that it is what have to wrk on and get better. My boat is one of the oldest in the fleet (Pogo 1, 1998). We were 4 to have this type of heavy machine. I finished at the top of this small group. I'm happy. But to tell the truth, I did not realize at all what happens... "

Andreas Lindlahr and the rain
"Many close to the wind speed, and bad weather 50% of the time." This is his transat. summarized in the outlines. The pleasure was primarily in moments of regatta with other competitors, including the final ine with the Dutch Jacobson, "He passed me 200 meters from the line... But I forgive him." He says smiling.

Robert Rosen Jacobson left his cave ...
Who said that the Dutch did not like the Germans? And that the Germans did not like the Dutch ? Robert Jacobson, a subject of Her Gracious Majesty Queen Beatrix and Andreas Lindlahr resident in Hamburg, would not agree as they sailed soulder to shoulder a long time. "Once he was passing me, the next time I was passing him" says Robert. Life on a Mini has been,much harder than expected by the Dutch. "It is like cavemen life! My cockpit was my cave for 3 weeks" he explains in an immense burst of laughter! And to illustrate the image he jumpied on the fresh fruit offered to each competitor upon at his arrival at the dock.
