Bahia's stone trophies
For the fifth time, that is to say since the first edition of The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50 and its arrival in Brazil in 2001, ten trophies award the top three in each class, as well as Izabel Pimentel the only Brazilian to have raced and finished the race and the three other women involved. They were created by the goldsmith and jeweler Lasbonfim. They represent a sailboat (normal) resting on a stone found only in the region of Bahia, the dumortievita, named after the French geologist, Dumort who discovered it.

Maibaum with ups and downs
As the horn sounded Maibaum (Coconut Run) stood up, removed the cloth he was using as his cap and shook two fists very high. He had just finished with his The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50. Whatever his rank (43rd), the German came to live a long and beautiful adventure, without any ambition, except from finishing. "I had moments of high followed by low. It's very, very long. Sometimes I wondered what I was doing here. And the next day, I was happy to be there. "
Will he return for a second experience? It does not say no with certainty but: "Not in 2011. Imust forget the painful moments. "

We are inseparable." Jerome wants to leave as soon as possible after his boat is repaired and find work over there maybe as skipper. In winter, life in St. Martin, it's easier. But I really need to work As he sail between three weeks to one month in the case of a forced stop (he has 2 500 miles to cross), the other minis sailors have given the food they did not eat, and he began to store. And called his wife...
- He said: "The boat is lying on the sand... But it's a boy or a girl?"
- His wife: "What, the ship is lying on the sand?"
