Maibaum with ups and downs @ Denis van den Brink / GPO

Maibaum with ups and downs

As the horn sounded Maibaum (Coconut Run) stood up, removed the cloth he was using as his cap and shook two fists very high. He had just finished with his The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50. Whatever his rank (43rd), the German came to live a long and beautiful adventure, without any ambition, except from finishing. "I had moments of high followed by low. It's very, very long. Sometimes I wondered what I was doing here. And the next day, I was happy to be there. "

Will he return for a second experience? It does not say no with certainty but: "Not in 2011. Imust forget the painful moments. "

Lecuna off again... on his mini @ Jean Perez / GPO

Lecuna off again... on his mini

Jerome Lecuna (I Feel Good) who finished 35th in Series after many galleys will return to the Antilles with his mini.... "I have no money to take the cargo. Our destinies are intertwined. We are inseparable." Jerome wants to leave as soon as possible after his boat is repaired and find work over there maybe as skipper. In winter, life in St. Martin, it's easier. But I really need to work As he sail between three weeks to one month in the case of a forced stop (he has 2 500 miles to cross), the other minis sailors have given the food they did not eat, and he began to store. Only "new" compared to his transat he should have the support of a friend with whom he has already sailed in the Mediterranean.

Ricardo, explanations ... @ Pierrick Garenne / GPO

Ricardo, explanations ...

Ricardo was sailing with his spinnaker and helmed a lot for Francisco not to catch up his delay. He then broke a rudder downwind... The wind fell and tired, Ricardo went to sleep without making a GPS point before falling into a deep sleep. He was then awakened by the shock of the keel on the sand, then the boat gently laid on its side. Ricardo ijumped out of the boat with water up to waist. On the beach, he asked for a phone. And called his wife...

  • He said: "The boat is lying on the sand... But it's a boy or a girl?"
  • His wife: "What, the ship is lying on the sand?"
  • Him: "Tell me it's a boy or a girl?"
  • She: "It's a boy"
  • Him: "Yes, the boat is lying on the sand ...

Series: sprint for the podium @ Pierrick Garenne / GPO

Series: sprint for the podium

If Charlie Dalin (Cherchesponsor-charliedalin.com) will win for sure, after a sublime race, the second leg of The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50, when Francisco Lobato (ROFF TMN) depriis, as for him, sure to win the transatlantic at the overall, the podium in Bahia for the second act is still undecided. While Ricardo Apolloni (Ma Vie pour Mapei) is best positionned to be Dalin's heir. Lobato is still threatened by  Xavier Macaire (Masoco Bay) that was sailing at the last positioning to over 11 knots, Giancarlo Pedote (Prysmian) who did a nice 10.09 knots and even the young and impetuous Sébastien Rogues, that came back from behind these last two days and that is now in 6th position at 10.37 knots. Stay tuned!
